My list of video poems with subtitles

Poetry is a form of literary art in which language is used for its aesthetic and evocative qualities in addition to, or in lieu of, its apparent meaning. Poetry is a fundamental creative act using language to evoke emotional or sensual responses.

I like narrative poetry, a genre of poetry that tells a story.

Enjoy my list of video poems with subtitles!

Let yourself be carried away by the beauty of this language and these voices.

Thinkmap Visual Thesaurus

The Thinkmap Visual Thesaurus - VT is an interactive dictionary and thesaurus which creates word maps that blossom with meanings and branch to related words. Its innovative display encourages exploration and learning. You'll understand language in a powerful new way.

Say you have a meaning in mind, like "happy." The VT helps you find related words, from "cheerful" to "euphoric." The best part is the VT works like your brain, not a paper-bound book. You'll want to explore just to see what might happen. You'll discover -- and learn -- naturally and intuitively. You'll find the right word, write more descriptively, free associate -- and gain a more precise understanding of the English or another language.

Search for a word in these languages:
English, German, Dutch, Italian, French and Spanish.

Roll your mouse over a meaning to learn more about it.
Click on a meaning to bring it to the center.

TED Prize 2009 - Protecting Ocean Life

One Wish to Change the World

February 2009.

Longbeach California

Talks Sylvia Earle's TED Prize wish to protect our oceans: She's an oceanographer that has been at the frontier of deep ocean exploration for four decades. She's led more than 50 undersea expeditions, and she's been an equally tireless advocate for our oceans and the creatures who live in them.

Watch this video selecting View subtitles, next to the Play button, available in four languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedich.

She makes her wish: that we will join her in protecting the vital blue heart of the planet.

I join her, and you?

My documentaries with subtitles

Types of documentary films: anthropology, ethnographic, docufiction, docudrama, nature, travel, political, reality, animated, etc.

Documentary film was often conceived as a political weapon against neocolonialism and capitalism.

I like nature documentary about animals, plants, or other non-human living creatures, usually taken in their natural habitat.

Enjoy my list of documentaries with subtitles!

My guns, arms, weapons

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the Bill of Rights that protects a right to keep and bear arms for self-defense. The meaning and scope of this right has been described as among the most contested of the rights codified in the Bill of Rights.

What do you think about this right?

pistol - Visual Dictionary OnlinePistol: Short light handgun that is held in one hand; it is loaded with a magazine inside the butt.

automatic rifle - Visual Dictionary OnlineAutomatic rifle: Portable assault rifle that fires cartridges; in automatic weapons such as submachine guns and light machine guns, the cartridges are fed by a magazine or a belt.

My University Courses with subtitles

I want to go to the University to learn lot of things and therefore I want to understand all that the teacher is saying.

But if I only can hear what the teacher is saying, I can't understand everything and is a pity because the class is not as instructive as it should be.

When I go to English class is very good to have the transcript of the lecture class, allowing us to read that the teacher wants to explain to us.

The list of My University Courses all are with subtitles to follow better all these magistral classes.

Can you tell me if you know another university videos in YouTube that contain subtitles?

Write me a comment and I add to my list.
